3 Big Surprises Await When Lulu Wakes Up: 1 dead, 1 left and 1 returned – What’s Next in the Post-Coma Drama?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show’s gearing up for Lulu Spencer’s (last played by Emme Rylan) coma awakening, so it’s time to start thinking about what her story will look like moving forward.

Unfortunately, GH is going in another direction with Lulu, so they’re recasting the role instead of bringing Emme Rylan back.

That feels like a mistake when fans have already had to adjust to multiple recasts over the last few years.

It would’ve been so easy to lean into the familiarity of Rylan’s version of Lulu and heighten the drama that’s coming up even more.

Since the show’s recasting the part instead, we’ll have to get used to someone else playing Lulu this fall.

Putting that issue aside, there are still ways for GH to make Lulu’s comeback a success.

1) Lulu’s Bittersweet Reunions and Mom-to-Teens Adjustment

Of course, Lulu will be thrilled to reunite with her kids upon awakening, but she needs to be heartbroken over all the time she’s lost, too.

It’ll be tough for Lulu to wake up and realize she’s missed so much of Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) and Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Carr) childhood.

Charlotte will inevitably come back and join Rocco on canvas, but Lulu may struggle to be a mom to these teenagers she doesn’t really know anymore.

This would be an excellent way to bond Lulu and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) again as he helps her navigate, which brings us to our next post-coma development.

2) Lulu and Dante Slowly Surrender to Love

It would be out of character for Dante to drop Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) like a hot potato the second Lulu wakes up, but we’re already seeing the groundwork for Dante and Lulu’s eventual reunion.

Lulu was going to tell Dante that she still loved him before she fell into a coma, so Dante needs to get updates on that and struggle with his own feelings.

The show has the perfect opportunity for a satisfying slow-burn reunion with a lot of emotional payoff.

3) Lulu’s Fury Unleashed

There’s a chance Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) might be the one to donate part of his liver and save Lulu’s life.

However, Lulu has every right to hate Cyrus until the end of time since he caused the explosion that put her in a coma to begin with.

Lulu needs to be able to unleash her fury on Cyrus – and the same goes for Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) once Lulu finds out she shot Charlotte and nearly killed her.

The recent developments in “General Hospital” have propelled the show into a whirlwind of drama, as Lulu Spencer’s (Emme Rylan) awakening from a long coma shakes the foundations of Port Charles. Lulu’s return not only creates emotional turbulence but also sets off a series of dramatic and far-reaching consequences for the Spencer family and beyond.

1. Lulu’s Awakening: A Catalyst for Family Turmoil

Lulu’s emergence from her coma marks the beginning of a tumultuous period for the Spencer family. Her return ignites a series of dramatic events that ripple through the lives of her loved ones, pushing them into a state of upheaval. This significant event forces the Spencer family to confront unresolved issues and reassess their relationships, as they navigate the emotional fallout from Lulu’s long absence. The emotional and psychological impact of Lulu’s return is profound, setting the stage for intense family dynamics and conflict.

2. The Shadow of Cyrus’s Death

The storyline surrounding Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) death adds a dark twist to Lulu’s return. The dramatic possibilities include two main scenarios: either Cyrus’s organ donation surgery fails, leading to his death, or Lulu herself plays a role in his demise. Cyrus’s death, whether through failed surgery or Lulu’s direct actions, promises to create significant upheaval in Port Charles.

If Cyrus dies due to surgical complications, his legacy of crime and his connections to various characters will create a complex web of reactions within the community. The failure of his surgery could trigger chaos and mixed emotions, as characters grapple with the implications of his death and his past actions. On the other hand, if Lulu is responsible for his death, the storyline will delve into themes of revenge and morality. Lulu’s act of vengeance would reflect the deep psychological scars she bears from her coma, adding layers to her character and escalating the dramatic tension.

3. Lulu’s Emotional Outburst: Sabotage and Betrayal

As Lulu grapples with her reawakening, she faces the painful reality that her former lover, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), has moved on with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). In a moment of emotional intensity, Lulu sabotages Dante and Sam’s wedding, a decision fueled by her unresolved feelings and the time lost during her coma. This act of sabotage throws Dante and Sam’s relationship into disarray, exposing the underlying tensions and unresolved emotions between the three characters.

Lulu’s actions reveal her fierce desire to reclaim her past love, leading to significant emotional conflicts. Sam, feeling betrayed by Lulu’s interference, must confront her own feelings of anger and hurt. Dante, caught in the crossfire, faces the difficult choice between his current relationship and the deep connection he once shared with Lulu. This turmoil pushes the relationships among these characters to new heights of complexity, as they each grapple with their emotions and the consequences of Lulu’s actions.

4. The Quest for Family Reconciliation: Finding Luke Spencer

Beyond the immediate chaos, Lulu’s return also ignites a quest for family reconciliation. Lulu and her brother, Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), embark on a journey to find their missing father, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary). Their mission to locate Luke and bring him back to Port Charles is driven by a deep desire to heal past wounds and strengthen their fractured family bonds.

The search for Luke Spencer is fraught with challenges and dangers, given his long absence and the mysteries surrounding his life. However, Lulu and Lucky are determined to overcome these obstacles, believing that reuniting with their father will provide an opportunity for healing and a brighter future for the Spencer family. Their journey promises to bring both peril and precious moments, as they confront past secrets and work together to mend their family’s broken ties.

5. Broader Implications for Port Charles

Lulu’s return and the subsequent storyline involving Cyrus’s death and the search for Luke Spencer have far-reaching implications for the entire community of Port Charles. These developments not only disrupt the lives of the Spencer family members but also impact other characters and the overall dynamics within the show. The emotional and dramatic waves created by these events are likely to resonate throughout the town, affecting relationships, alliances, and the broader narrative of “General Hospital.”

As Lulu, Dante, Sam, and the Spencer family navigate the fallout from these dramatic twists, viewers can expect a rich tapestry of emotions, conflicts, and resolutions. The evolving storylines promise to keep fans on the edge of their seats, offering a blend of suspense, drama, and heartfelt moments as the characters confront their pasts and forge new paths forward.
