Well, it seems like there’s heavy speculation that the veteran scribe wanted to make some changes behind the scenes but that didn’t sit well with some of the powers to be. Soap Twitter was quick to point out that Patrick Mulcahey got fired faster than any other head writer in modern soap history. And while no one really knows what happened behind closed doors, you better believe that fans sure do have a lot to say about it on social media. A lot of people are also worried that the writing will be headed in the wrong direction again.
Some comments have included, “I think the only thing I can say is that it is known that allegedly this partnership wasn’t gelling. So they get rid of the only guy with decades of experience, who was trying to change things up and go right back to the status quo which we KNOW hasn’t been working for at least the last 2 years,” along with, “What a terrible way to treat PM. He’s being used as their scapegoat now, and the two people who have been responsible for this show starting to tank are still there. EK and CVE should have been fired, not Patrick.”

Another critic wrote, “SMH. WTF? Something strange is going on behind the scenes at #GH and they better get their house in order Stat or they will continue to lose viewers. So far, May sweeps has been a dud. Yes, the wedding was pretty but so what? All we saw was paranoid/drunk uncle Sonny punch Dex?”
So far the producers of the show have not made any comments about the matter.
